Summary: As the yearly installment of Call of Duty continues and the alternations between Treyarch and Infinity Ward also continues, the sequel to Treyarch’s Call of Duty Black Ops is set for release this year. While always confirmed for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3, it was through an employee’s resume on Linkedin that a Wii U version was confirmed. The Call of Duty franchise was largely passed over on the Nintendo Wii, as their ports were scaled down, lacked a centralized online network and were simply overall lesser quality. With Nintendo’s attempt to bring back hardcore gamers on the Wii U, the Call of Duty franchise will be an essential asset. Black Ops II Wii U continues the story from the first game as Cold War conspiracies and first person shooting action meets.
Wii U Exclusive Features: The tablet controller will undoubtedly play a large role in the nature of Call of Duty Black Ops 2′s game play. The tablet could serve as a scope for weapons, an inventory control system, a map for single and multi-player and a way to coordinate yours and your team’s attack. Team death match could be less about chaos and more about organized attacks on the other team.
Social Play: The lack of real online play on the Nintendo Wii is what prevented the series from having any real impact last generation.
