Wii U Week One Sales
Nintendo has released the Wii U’s sales figures for its first week on the market. According to the company, 400,000 Wii U’s were sold during the pivotal first week. During the interview with CNET, Reggie Fils-Aime also noted that 300,000 Wii units were sold during the same period.
He is quoted as saying, “Wii U is essentially sold out of retail and we are doing our best to continually replenish stock. Retailers are also doing their best to get the product to store shelves. But as soon as product hits retail, they’re selling out immediately.”
To put this number into perspective, the original Wii sold 800,000 units in its first week on the market.
