Pikmin 3 is the long awaited sequel to Pikmin 2 from the Nintendo Game Cube. It is a casual strategy based game and is expected to be released in the Fall of 2012. Pikmin 3 was originally slated for a Wii release, but Nintendo delayed it for the Wii U due to technical limitations.
Pikmin 3 will feature HD graphics and the new tablet controller of the Wii U. There have been murmurings of online gameplay through the upcoming Nintendo Network.
Pikmin 3 Plot
Pikmin 3′s plot is similar to that of all other Pikmin Games. Once again, gamers will control Captain Olimar or a similar character. The objective of the game is to collect pieces of a spaceship enabling Olimar to return home. Through Olimar, gamers are able to control the various Pikmin of the game to clear each level’s objectives.
Pikmin 3 Gameplay
The gameplay for Pikmin 3 is set up in a third person, top down view. Players can control up to 100 Pikmin which can be organized into groups. As of now, it is uncertain how exactly the Wii U’s controller will be utilized to enhance the gameplay.
