Summary: The Warriors Orochi franchise is given its fourth installment with Warriors Orochi 3 and Warriors Orochi 3 Hyper (Wii U exclusive version). By combining the best of the Dynasty Warriors and Samurai Warriors frenchises, Warriors Orochi is a hack and slash adventure that lives up to the genre’s name. With the Warriors Orochi game originally being released in 2011, the Wii U Hyper edition is coming a year later, but will offer exclusive features.
Wii U Exclusive Features: A new Duel Mode multiplayer mode will be made available for this Wii U launch title. Players will be able to battle using 3 man teams to take on enemies. Being newer than the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 editions, Warriors Orochi 3 Hyper will offer enhanced graphics but will suffer from a slower frames per second rate due to the slower processor. The Nintendo Wii U Gamepad can also be utilized, allowing the game to be played as a handheld. Two new characters will be exclusive to the Wii U version: Momiji and Shennong.
Social Play: Multiplayer will be available in Warriors Orochi 3 Hyper, including the new Duel Mode. Players can work together or against one another to take down and hack and slash their way through enemies. Co-op game play is available as well.
Presentation: Graphics will be enhanced but the processor may hinder the load rate or lead to some lag. The Wii U version will have a slower frames per second rate than the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 2011 editions. Being available for play on the Wii U gamepad will allow the game to be portable and will serve as an impressive portable fighter nonetheless. As a launch game, it can be expected that the system’s full capabilities will not be utilized yet.
